GREENSBORO, NC -- Whether it was an encouraging talk or his time spent volunteering at a local soup kitchen, Dylan Price changed lives.

But back in October, life changed forever for Dylan's family and friends.  Dylan died after a heart attack - a result of complications from a bone marrow transplant.  But Dylan's family is still honoring his giving spirit.

Dylan's father, Newell Price, was right by Dylan's side as he was in and out of the hospital for treatments.  Dylan received blood and platelet donations during that time, and now his family is paying it forward.

Newell Price said he donates platelets any chance he can get.

He's a regular at the Red Cross.  And that's why he joined the Good Morning Show on Friday to help promote the WFMY News 2 Holiday Blood Drive.

The Holiday Blood Drive is Tuesday from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. at the Greensboro Coliseum Special Events Center.

The American Red Cross and Schiffman's Jewelers are partnering with WFMY News 2  to raise 540 units of blood.  All blood types are needed.
