GREENSBORO, N.C. -- It's a night of dinner, jazz and holiday fun. The best part, you'll be supporting the dreams of aspiring musicians and students at North Carolina Central University.
The NCCU Alumni Association, Inc. Greensboro Chapter's 46th annual Holiday Dinner and Jazz Concert takes place on Sunday, December 8, 2013. It features NCCU Jazz Ensembles as well as renowned international jazz artists.
John Barbee and Bob Chiles with the NCCU Alumni Association, Greensboro Chapter joined WFMY News 2's Tracey McCain on the Good Morning Show to talk about the event.
"The NCCU Jazz Band and Vocal Ensemble have earned top honors at numerous American and International festivals and have twice performed at the White House," said Barbee, the chapter's president. "These kids have played with Wynton Marsalis and many other jazz legends."
The NCCU Alumni Association Greensboro Chapter presents its annual Holiday Dinner and Jazz Concert on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Greensboro. Doors open at 4 p.m. with a silent auction. The dinner and concert begins at 5 p.m. Tickets are $60. Proceeds from the concert and silent auction will be used for student scholarships.
