Panera presents their First Annual Gingerbread House Competition to raise money for Earlier.Org; which works to find an earlier breast cancer test.
On Saturday, December 7th, people will bring their culinary creations for a chance to win big prizes. It's from 10a.m. to 4p.m. at The Terrace at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex at 1921 West Lee St. in Greensboro.
Anyone can enter the competition. You can arrive at any time, but your gingerbread house creation must be finsihed by 4p.m. There will be two different divisions - Rookies and Pros- and each will be given sheets of gingerbread to use.
The "Rookie Division" will have a base of 1.5ft x 3.0 ft and the "Pro Division" base will be 3ft x 3ft. You will have all the supplies you need at the decorating supply table from the candies to the icing.
The Rookie Division Registration Fee is $100, $30 for individuals, and $60 for doubles. The Pro Division Registration Fee is $125, $35 for individuals, and $70 for doubles. You can only have four people per team.
Besides marveling at all the houses, you can meet Mr. and Mrs. Claus, write your letter to Santa, take pictures in a fun photo booth, and enjoy hot cocoa! There will also be a Silent Auction and raffle.
A spectator day pass is $10 at the door and includes beverages and a cookie from Panera. All proceeds will benefit Earlier.Org for breast cancer research. Click here for more information.
