GREENSBORO, N.C. -- You have questions about healthcare and the Affordable Care Act.  There's an event in Greensboro on Thursday, December 5, 2013 that focuses on it, so you know your options.

Deborah Hooper, the President of the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce and Bess Ramey, the Chair of the Healthcare Summit Planning Committee joined WFMY News 2's Tracey McCain on the Good Morning Show to talk about the event.

"This is a great opportunity for us to share key information about health options for employers and there is an interdependence between health and economic development so we can create jobs," explained Hooper.  "We want our businesses to control their costs and healthcare is the fastest raising cost that they have."

The event is called Healthcare: Survive and Thrive in 2014 where panelists will talk about some of the myths and realities of the Affordable Care Act.  The summit will also address insurance plans, wellness management, and how to manage costs.

"The opening panel is on the Affordable Care Act and what you need to know," said Ramey.  "We have healthcare leaders from the Greensboro area who will sit on the panel to answer your questions."

There is still time to register for the summit.  It's on Thursday, December 5, 2013 from 8 a.m. to Noon at the Sheraton Four Seasons in Greensboro.

Registration costs $25 for Chamber members or $50 for non-members.  Register today by calling 336-387-8323 or online by clicking here.
