WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- You can go shopping and help a local organization raise money to help the people in its community this weekend.
The Junior League of Winston-Salem is hosting its 4th annual Boutique, a "holiday shopping extravaganza." You can buy holiday goods from many local vendors Friday and Saturday.
Proceeds from the event go to JLWS to help the group fund projects in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County community.
The weekend's event kicks off Friday night with a "Downtown Happy Hour Shopping" session from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the Benton Convention Center in downtown Winston-Salem. Tickets are $2.
There is also a pre-Boutique shopping event with a fine jewelry raffle and a designer handbag silent auction. The theme for this year's Girl's Night Out event is "Bubbles, Baubles and Bags." Tickets to this event are $30 for one or $100 for four. This event is Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Convention Center.
General shopping at the boutique will be Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Benton Convention Center. Tickets for general shopping are $4.
