Today, you will hear the familiar sound of Christmas music ringing through the Triad. The Salvation Army is kicking off their "Red Kettle" and "Angel Tree" campaigns.
Major Don Vick with The Salvation Army stopped by The Good Morning Show to talk about the two initiatives. He told us there are at least 20,000 kids - or "angels" - that need gifts this holiday season. He said you can pick an angel off the tree and give that kid a reason to smile.
The Salvation Army National Capital Band is travelling from D.C. to spread the holiday cheer. They will be performing today and tomorrow. The group will have two concerts: tonight at Central Triad Church at 2935 Cole Road in Winston-Salem and Saturday at the First Annual Jack Sutton Junior Music Festival at First Presbyterian Church at 300 North Cherry Street in Winston-Salem.
