GREENSBORO, NC -- November is National Lung Cancer Awareness Month.  Believe it or not, lung cancer kills more people than breast, prostate, kidney and lymphoma cancers combined.

That's why people like Starr Sargent are working to raise money for lung cancer.  Sargent is a lung cancer survivor.

Sargent joined the Good Morning Show team on Wednesday to encourage people to sign up for the upcoming Lung Cancer Initiative Run, Walk and Rally at NewBridge Bank Park.

Sargent said only 16 percent of lung cancer patients live five or more years after diagnosis, compared with 89 percent of breast cancer patients and 99 percent of prostate cancer patients.

The Lung Cancer Initiative event is this Saturday, Nov. 9. It is called the 5K & 1-Mile Run, Walk and Rally and will start at NewBridge Bank Park.

Registration and check-in start at 7:30 a.m.
