Archdale, NC -- It's that time of the year: The weather is getting cooler, it's getting darker earlier and the ghosts and goblins start coming out at night.
If you're ready to get into the Halloween spirit, Spookywoods is certainly worth a visit.
WFMY News 2's Lauren Melvin got a sneak peek of the new scares this year.
The Spookywoods tour at Kersey Valley actually begins at the original haunted house. From there, visitors hop on a tram, which brings them to the gold mine.
From the gold mine, they'll make their way through a cornfield before ending at Spookywoods, which was originally a Christmas tree farm.
All of the vampires, goblins and monsters that you see along the way are created right on the property at Spookywoods.
Joe Harp, Monster Maker at Spookywoods, said how long it takes each person to get into character really depends on how involved their make-up, mask or costume is. Some of them are quick and easy, but others could take hours just to get ready for the show.
Spookywoods opens next Friday night, September 27th and runs through the first weekend in November.
