High Point, NC - You've heard of the band Guns and Roses, but this event takes a spin on the name for a good cause.
The Guns and Hoses Charity Challenge benefits the two charities the High Point Police and Fire Departments support.
WFMY News 2's Tracey McCain spoke to the event organizer, Ben Sturgill who owns 336 CrossFit in High Point. Sturgill says the goal of the event is to raise $2,500 for the Special Olympics and the Fill the Boot campaign for burn victims.
Anyone can participate in the charity event. There will be modified workouts for every skill level. The event will feature fire trucks, police dog demos, police motorcycles, food and most importantly the workout.
Your $10 donation will be split between the two charities. You don't need to register. Just go to 336 CrossFit, located at 3700 North Main Street in High Point on Saturday, September 28th. The heats begin at 9am and will run every 20 minutes.
