Guilford County, NC - They're used to saving lives, but not like this. Emergency Services employees from Guilford County are raising money to help children in the Shriners Burn Center. And they're doing it by playing softball!
Dustin Barnett from the Northeast Guilford Fire Department and Jim Turner with the Shriners Club talked about the annual event on the Good Morning Show.
Barnett said nine teams made up of EMS employees are competing for bragging rights, but the ultimate goal is to help children at the hospital. Turner says the closest hospital that treats children with burns is in Ohio and all the money raised will help provide those children with better lives.
The softball tournament takes place Tuesday, August 13th through Saturday, August 17th at Northern Guilford Middle School. All proceeds benefit children at Shriners Burn Centers.
