"Howdy Partners! Now if you are looking for the western look in your home when you are decorating, here are some things you might want to consider. Don't forget about
Your walls! Your walls become primary focal points. Here in this bedroom - this is the master bedroom, they took all different kinds of cowboy hats which happen to be their own, they use all of them, and they hung them on the wall like a collage. It looks great! It's like a piece of sculpture, a piece of art!
Now don't forget about your window treatments as well. The curtains here, the fabric looks like burlap. You can use raw burlap or a fabric that is similar to it. But they tied them with rope in square knots. It adds that wester touch to it. You can take a pair of chaps and also hang those on the wall. Don't forget about throw pillows. They can be cowhide.
Now also remember your art. We always talk about art and how important it is to a room and to your whole house. Here they did something fun. They took a colorful piece of western art to take away from being "too serious" and "too western".
Don't forget about your Rich Colors. The cowboy look is all about dark rich colors. These walls are a very rich burgundy - even the bedspread carries the same look with nice tones of brown. Overall for a master bedroom it's a little bit darker but it's real comfortable.
Don't forget on the wall we have this cow head that the homeowner painted herself. This is plastic. You can buy this at a feed store. This is what they use to practice roping. Overall we have a great room with a cowboy look.
