Sophia, NC - It's a camp nestled in the heart of Randolph County where even the shyest girl comes out of her shell and the girls who don't like sports, learn to have fun and play.
There's so much to do at the Girl Scout Camp at the Keyauwee Program Center in Sophia. The camp features canoeing, horseback riding, archery, wall climbing, arts and crafts, swimming and more.
All of the camp's activities help girls ages 5 to 17 build
confidence and courage as well as physical strength and teamwork.
WFMY News 2's Tracey McCain took viewers on a tour of the camp Monday on the Good Morning Show. Campers talked about their experience and why they recommend girls of all ages attend.
"You build a lot of friendships and teamwork and it's all a lot of fun," said one camper.
Registration is still open for girls ages 5 to 17. There's space at the Girl Scout's overnight camps, weekend camps and even day camps through the first week of August. Call 336-861-1198 or click on the link for more information.
