How well do you know your neighbors? For a lot of us, that answer would be, not that well. However, when the safety of your loved ones and yourself depend on it, you realize it's important to build a strong community around you that does not stand for violence.
Officer Campbell with the Greensboro Police Department stopped by The Good Morning Show to talk about their Kick Off Block Party to National Night Out. It's a night where folks can get together and start a dialogue with police in a low-stress environment about how to better protect themselves and their neighborhoods.
The Kick Off Block Party is this Saturday, June 29, from 9:00 a.m. until noon at 100 Police Plaza in Greensboro. They want to meet people who are interested in having their own National Night Out gathering August 6th. National Night Out is an event that happens throughout the country to promote crime prevention, community involvement, and send a message to criminals that people are watching them. It also helps you form a "Community Watch Group" where you can meet your neighbors, police officers, and firefighters.
