Greensboro, NC - You don't see your face up high on a billboard everyday, but a Guilford County Schools employee has earned those bragging rights.
Letisha Joyner started a successful reading club for students on her Jamestown Elementary school bus. Now, she joins other school employees and students who are honored to see their accomplishment on display for Guilford County.
Joyner talked about the success of the book club with WFMY News 2's Tracey McCain on the Good Morning Show. Joyner says she got the idea to start the club when she saw a third grade student reading to a younger student who had been crying. "It really calmed them down and I thought, this would be a good idea," explained Joyner.
Joyner says through the book club, students gained confidence, not only in their reading ability but in themselves.
You can see the billboard at Market Center and Prospect in High Point through July 7th.
