Winston-Salem, NC - It's all about playing smart, exploring and learning! Kids can do it all at the SciWorks Science Center in Winston-Salem.
The center is featuring a Sportsology Exhibit this summer where students can learn about the science behind sports.
WFMY News 2's Tracey McCain took viewers on a tour of the traveling exhibit's seven skill-sets Wednesday on the Good Morning Show.
Hang Time: Grab onto a bar and test your endurance.
Get a Grip: A true strength test, how strong is your handshake?
Action Reaction: Can you be a great soccer goalie? Test your reaction time.
Vertical Leap: Compare how high you can jump to 3 pro basketball players.
Fast Ball: Throw a ball at a target and see how fast you can pitch.
Wheel Chair Racers: Race a friend and see how fast you are just by using your arms.
Flex-Ability: Learn about your flexibility.
"We think this will be an engaging, active exhibit for the summer that will encourage kids to get involved with sports, which is extremely important as childhood obesity has become such a problem in our society," said Paul Kortenaar, the center's executive director. "Learning the science of sports is fundamental to playing well and playing smart."
The Sportsology Exhibit is on display now at SciWorks in Winston-Salem. The science center is located at 400 West Hanes Mill Road in Winston-Salem.
