High Point, NC - A Triad man ranks among the top athletes in CrossFit and this week he's heading to a regional competition with the goal to win a spot in July's CrossFit finals.
Ben Sturgill is the head coach and owner of 336 CrossFit & Athletic Training in High Point. He's competing in the Mid-Atlantic Regional competition being held in Landover, MD June 6-9th.
Sturgill ranks 18th in the Mid-Atlantic Region out of about 5,000 male athletes. Earlier this year, he finished 251st in the world out of about 65,000 male athletes.
You can cheer for Sturgill online. The official CrossFit Games website will stream the event live.
If Sturgill qualifies, he'll go on to compete in the final games held in July. The winner of that event wins a quarter of a million dollars plus other cash and prizes.
