Greensboro, NC - Following Saturday's tragic boating accident at High Rock Lake on May 25 that led to the death of a pregnant woman and her son, anyone who operates or rides on a boat this summer should know boating safety rules.

Nathan Green with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission explained boating rules and laws on Friday's Good Morning Show.

Three of the most important rules to remembers are that anyone under the age of 26 must complete a boating education course, there must be enough life jackets on a boat for every person on board, and anyone under the age of 13 must be wearing a lifejacket at all times.

Free boating education classes are offered throughout the Triad.
