Guilford County, NC -- The American Red Cross had a successful week of blood donations after a week-long partnership with first responders in the Triad.
Guilford County Emergency Medical Service won the challenge against other organizations.
At 11 percent, they had the highest percentage of their workforce to donate blood, according to Melanie McDonough with the American Red Cross.
McDonough also says hundreds of Triad residents turned out for the blood drive as well.
The high turn out helped the organization total 16 more pints of blood than it normally has this time of year.
