Greensboro, NC -- The U.S. House is expected to vote on raising the nation's debt ceiling Wednesday. It would give the government about three months of borrowing access to pay debts.
This three month extension would give Senate Democrats a chance to pass a budget, which the Senate hasn't done since 2009.
House GOP members are offering a compromise by backing off a requirement to cut $1 of spending for every dollar the debt ceiling is raised.
Jason Husser, Assistant Professor of Political Science at Elon University, stopped by the Good Morning Show Tuesday to talk about the negotiations and what it all could mean for you.
