Greensboro, NC -- A local organization is spreading awareness about the affects of chains on dogs and having no shelter in the wintertime.

Project B.A.R.K (Bringing Animals Relief and Kindess) is celebrating it's 2nd Anniversary Saturday by helping a needy pet in triad communities.

The organization is non-profit and were first organized through Ragsdale High School.

They mostly help dogs who are chained without a dog house. Volunteers are concerned the pets have no way of staying warm or dry in the winter.

So they go around to different communities to educated neighbors on their mission and the importance of providing adequate shelter for dogs.

Libby Scandale is the director for Project B.A.R.K. She spoke more about the organization's mission and goals to WFMY News 2's Ed Matthews. Click on the video to watch their interview.
