Greensboro, NC - Kids in Guilford County Schools took part in their mock election yesterday. At Brooks Elementary the classes filed into the computer lab where a voting program was up-and-running on each screen.
The program is similar to what adults see when they enter an official voting booth. But as we asked the kids why they voted a certain way their answers weren't what we expected. It shows the power of the advertising campaigns for each candidate as many kids quoted the ads directly.
The program is an effort to get kids interested at an early age in our political system and the election process.
The results wont be public for a day or so since school is out today.
