Winston-Salem, NC-- In a few months the city Winston-Salem will be painted purple and black and the streets will be filled with celebrities.
That's because the National Black Theatre Festival (NBTF) will be in town with original stage performances including musicals.
Monday, organizers named the celebrity co-chairs for the event. The 2013 National Black Theatre celebrity co-chairs are: Tonya Pinkins and Dorien Wilson.
The event will kick-off on July 29 and run through August 3. The festival is held every other year and usually brings about 60,000 people to the Triad, more than 70 celebrities who perform more than 100 shows.
Theatre companies from the US, Europe, Africa and the Caribbean take part in the festival.
