GREENSBORO, N.C. -- WFMY News 2 meteorologists say parts of the Piedmont Triad may see inclement weather Tuesday afternoon. This has prompted the area's largest school system to close early.

Tuesday morning, Guilford County Schools (GCS) announced that all schools will dismiss two hours early because of the threat of inclement weather this afternoon. In addition, GCS officials say High schools that were releasing early because of testing will dismiss two hours earlier than their usual dismissal time. This will mean a change in dismissal time from the early-release testing schedule.

Other school activities affected: All after-school activities are cancelled. The GCS ACES after-school program will not operate Tuesday afternoon. Twilight School will not be in session and Twilight's midyear celebration that was scheduled for tonight will be rescheduled.
