Police: Mom Says Daughter Sexually Assaulted In Winston-Salem Library

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Police in Winston-Salem are looking for a man who a mom says sexually assaulted her daughter in the Forsyth County Public Library.

On Monday, police were dispatched on a disturbance call at the main library on West Fifth Street. When they arrived, a woman told officers she saw her daughter, who has autism spectrum disorder, being sexually assaulted by a man in one of the book aisles.

The mom said she left her daughter in a section of the library to look at books while she browsed in another section of the library. The woman said when she went back to get her daughter she saw her being assaulted. The girl's mother got into a fight with the suspect, but he was able to run away, police said.
