Greensboro, NC -- A steady, moderate rain moved through the Triad Monday morning before another round of severe storms moved through Monday evening. Combined, parts of the Triad accumulated more than three inches of rain in some places producing widespread flooding.

Winston-Salem received more than 2.60" of rain and as a result many areas across Forsyth County and the rest of the Triad began to flood. Areas along the Yadkin River, in western Forsyth experienced moderate flooding with river levels reaching nearly 22 feet where flood stage is only 18 feet.

Many places in the Triad also encountered flooded roadways. One such place was in Winston-Salem where Reynolda Road looked more like a river than a road.

In addition to the heavy rains the storms also brought gusty winds, hail and a lot of lightning.  Hail, nearly an inch in diameter was reported in Thomasville around 9:20 pm.
