Greensboro, NC-- Just in time for the holidays, a Triad company announces it is expanding and creating more jobs.

SPi Healthcare, a leading integrated revenue cycle and clinical documentation improvement firm, will expand its operations in Greensboro. In the process, it will create 75 jobs and invest $350,000 during the next three years.

The project was made possible in part by a $75,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund.

"Creating jobs is my top priority. Our skilled workforce, top-notch business climate and job training programs are key reasons why global companies choose to locate in this state," said Gov. Perdue. "SPi Healthcare knows that North Carolina is a great place to do business and we welcome them to Greensboro."

Salaries will vary by job function, but the average annual wage for the new jobs will be $28,060, plus benefits.

SPi Healthcare will offer Revenue Cycle Management services including full Business Process Outsourcing from the Greensboro facility. The company will help healthcare organizations in the Southeast region to effectively manage tightening margins and reverse declining reimbursements to ultimately improve their overall financial health. The One North Carolina Fund grant was awarded to Springfield Service Corporation, which was recently rebranded with Laguna Medical Systems to become SPi Healthcare.

The project was made possible in part by a $75,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund.

"I want to thank the state of North Carolina for their support in allowing us to take part in the One North Carolina program. We are excited to be part of the Greensboro community where we know the work ethic is strong and the business climate is positive," said John O'Donnell, president and CEO of SPi Healthcare. "The office in North Carolina enables us to have a larger presence in the Southeast, expand our national footprint and position us for a great opportunity for further growth."

The One North Carolina Fund provides financial assistance, through local governments, to attract business projects that will stimulate economic activity and create new jobs in the state. Companies receive no money up front and must meet job creation and investment performance standards to qualify for grant funds. These grants also require and are contingent upon local matches.

North Carolina continues to have a top-ranked business climate. Through Gov. Perdue's JobsNOW initiative, the state works aggressively to create jobs, train, and retrain its workforce, laying the foundation for a strong and sustainable economic future.

Through the use of the One North Carolina Fund, more than 55,000 jobs and $11 billion in investments have been created since 2001. Other partners that helped with this project include the N.C. Department of Commerce, N. C. Community Colleges, Guilford County and the City of Greensboro.
