Canning vegetables has been around forever.

For one Rockingham County woman, it's actually turned into a business.

Melissa Wingfield took some extra green beans and made them into something special. Armed with her grandmother's pickling recipe, she started jarring the greens for her family.

Her husband took a jar to work, and everyone loved them.

At the time she thought she was doing her co-workers a favor, but little did she know, she was starting a company.

That was a little over a year ago, and now Milly's Dillies is a business.

Her once or twice a week canning operation is now a seven day operation.
