Sullivan is a 4-5 month old standard black and tan dapple puppy who is 10 pounds of paws and ears! He was surrendered to a shelter in North Carolina by the family that bred him after they could not find him a suitable home. Understandably, Sullivan (Sully) was scared in the shelter and displayed some typical behaviors of a dachshund in a shelter so rescue was called to come and help the sweet boy and give him a chance at finding a home.

Sullivan got his name because of his big stature at such a young age - the young kids in his foster home recently saw Monsters University and decided he is kind of like the big blue monster named Sully. He gets scared at first and will growl, but once he knows he is safe, he wiggles and licks and plays - and all of this reminds his foster home of the character Sully in the movie! Sully is a sweet boy that needs a home with a strong alpha dog that will help him feel safe and secure. Once Sully feels safe, he is a free-spirited puppy that gives kisses and puppy romps. When Sully is scared, he will submissively urinate which is a problem that will go away as he becomes more secure in his new home. Chewing is not yet a big problem for Sully but we can see that he will soon be losing some baby teeth so we imagine sometime soon he will need to start chewing away to get those baby teeth wiggled out to make room for his adult pearly whites! Sully has been great with the other fur-sibilings and learning the ropes with the pack order in his new foster home. He is great with the human kids and loves to get attention for his people. Sully's adoptive home needs to be aware that when full grown, Sully will likely be over 20 pounds. He has gorgeous markings and will be a wonderful standard dachshund which you rarely find anymore! Sully is not housetrained and will need continued work on his manners, but with a lot of love and patience - he is going to be one sweetheart. Sully IS very much a puppy - so his new home will need to work on training him and spending lots of time teaching him the ropes.

Do you want to be the lucky one to get this sweet monster of a boy? Sully has been neutered and brought current on all vaccinations, and he is all set to graduate from Fosters University!
