Alex showed up at animal control when his owner died and no family member would take him as their own. What a shame, because Alex is one of the sweetest dachshunds at his foster home.
Alex is a teeny boy weighing about 12-14 pounds. He is a gorgeous smooth black and tan silver dapple. Alex is really laid back; he's a great lap dog and companion for anyone willing to give this sweetheart a loving forever home. His age is estimated to be around 7 years old. He came into rescue flea-covered and with a scraggly coat, but now his coat has filled in nicely and all his flea friends have skipped town.
We are not sure if he gets along with cats, but it can be tested beforehand if a potential forever home has adult cats. He would also have to be tested with children, as he has not been exposed to any children at his foster home. He is on his way to house training and is quiet in his crate when his foster mom goes to work. If you are looking to find a best friend who is quiet and laid back for TV nights or rides in the car, Alex is your guy.
Alex is neutered, current on vaccines, on heartworm prevention and flea treatment. He has no known health issues.
