GREENSBORO, N.C.-- Thursday, the City of Greensboro put out a call to residents and businesses asking for feedback about the city's recycling program.
People who live, work or own a business in the city are asked to complete a survey about the city's recycling program. City leaders want to use the information to improve the recycling program and you get a chance to win one of five $50 gift certificates for filling out the survey.
How does this work: You have to take a 25-question survey and you don't have to leave your home to get a copy. The surveys are being mailed and should be included in your January city water bill. You will need to complete it by the February 28, 2014 deadline.

Why are they doing this? The city will use the results to launch a more relevant and effective educational campaign to increase recycling. Again, all who complete the survey are eligible to win one of five $50 Visa gift cards.
The City's Waste Reduction Supervisor Alex Arnett, says recycling is more important than ever for Greensboro. "The City pays $44 per ton to dispose of trash in the Uwharrie landfill, but the City gets paid $30 per ton for our recyclables through ReCommunity, our recycling partner. Recycling saves money, saves resources, and creates local jobs."
