GREENSBORO, N.C. -- As soon as Thanksgiving meals were finished this week, shopping was the next event on many Triad residents' minds.
Shoppers in the Triad were out and about Saturday supporting local mom-and-pop stores as part of Small Business Saturday.
The Craftmen's Christmas Classic hosted the largest gathering of small businesses in the area at the Greensboro Coliseum Saturday afternoon. The event included more than 400 artists displaying their unique clothing, furniture, jewelry, and pottery.
Shoppers told WFMY News 2 they decided to support small businesses rather than department stores because they felt there would be fewer crowds. One shopper said he was looking for items with a "personal touch" and ones he would not be able to find in a retail store.
The last day to shop at the Craftmen's Christmas Class is Sunday, December 1 from 11-5. For more information visit their website.
