GREENSBORO, N.C. -- With Thanksgiving this week, we're all thinking about the feast we have coming on Thursday, but it's also time to think about those in need for the holidays, especially teenagers who have aged out of certain programs.
Cynthia Siddle is one of the organizers for the Teen Outreach 2013 Giveaway Program. She joined WFMY News 2's Tracey McCain to talk about their donation event.
"It started out as a program just for teenagers because often they're forgotten during the holidays, but it's grown to include everyone in the family because the need is so great," said Siddle.
Siddle went over some of the items needed: toys, canned foods, working household items, clothing and pajamas for all ages. They also need shoes, boots, personal and school items. They'll take everything but money. "Money is the only thing we can't take," said Siddle.
All donations are needed by December 11, 2013. You can drop them off at 100 Meadowville Lane Apt. G. That's the clubhouse at the Meadow Park Apartments in Greensboro.
To make arrangements call 336-988-1025 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The free giveaway will be on December 14, 2013. It's from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the same clubhouse location.
All in need are welcome. No donations are required to receive the free items!
