PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. -- Looking for ways to help the needy this Thanksgiving?
Here's a list of events and volunteer opportunities for you to get involved with this week:
- Lawndale Baptist Church is holding their "Feeding the 5000" event on Tuesday, November 26 starting at 9 a.m. Boxes of food, including turkey, stuffing, green beans, potatoes, and apple pie will be given to the first 1000 families. One box is allowed per family.

- Victory Junction will be cooking Thanksgiving turkeys for the Greensboro Urban Ministry's meal on Wednesday November 27. Turkeys will be cooked starting at 6 a.m. at the Fuel Stop kitchens on the campus of Victory Junction.

Canned good donations are being accepted as part of Guilford Middle School's food drive benefiting Greensboro Urban Ministry. Can goods can be dropped off at the school.
- Community Tables will be holding their Thanksgiving Day Feast For The Community on Thursday, Thanksgiving Day. Greensboro Urban Ministry will be operating out of the kitchen at the Greensboro Coliseum starting at 4:30 a.m. Food will be distributed by volunteers throughout the city.
Meals will be served offsite at First Presbyterian Church from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. and at Congregational United Church of Christ from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
