GREENSBORO, N.C. -- It's been nine days since Typhoon Haiyan slammed into the Philippines and killed thousands of people.
Last Sunday, WFMY News 2 spoke with members at Jesus Our Victory church in Greensboro about how they are personally reaching out to help typhoon victims.
A majority of the church members are from the Philippines and some even have family members who were hit hard by the storm. Fortunately, they tell us none have been reported dead.
One member, 16 year-old Edward De Sare, says he hasn't been able to get in contact with his family in the Philippines. He says all he can do is keep his faith in God and hope for the best.
Pastor Jay Aguilar says the church has raised close to 2,000 dollars and plan to get all donations by the 23rd.
