ASHEBORO, N.C. -- Make way for two really cute new additions to the North Carolina Zoo.
The two young marine mammals made their first visit to the Piedmont Triad International Airport on Thursday.
The sea lions, Storm and Dyson, arrived via FedEx Air Freight to the airport.
Storm is a female, and Dyson a male; both are around 16 months old.
The two sea lions were rescued by Sea World of San Diego after they were abandoned, according to NC Zoo. They were found stranded on La Jolla Beach near San Diego in June 2012.
On Thursday, both Storm and Dyson were loaded into a specially-designed crate at Sea World to make the trip to PTI Airport.
They will now spend the next 30 days in a Seal/Sea Lion holding quarters in the RJR Nabisco Rocky Coast exhibit complex. It's a requirement for any new animals arriving at the zoo.
