GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Some people believe that to truly love others, one needs to learn to love themselves first.
This philosophy was put to the test at Ujima Flow's annual "I Love Me" pageant Sunday. The group focuses on helping young people realize the role they play in shaping their communities in a positive way.
The pageant is considered to be not like traditional beauty pageants. Organizer Sorena Hayes, says her contest helps teach young ladies the importance of inner beauty, giving back to their communities, and the importance of team work.
WFMY News 2's Tracey McCain served as host for the event and has attended in previous years. The winners of will be featured in the upcoming NC A&T Homecoming parade.
