GREENSBORO, N.C.  -- As Saturday began the day with cold temperatures, the Gate City Chili Cook Off heated up the afternoon with signature recipes from different local restaurants.

Natty Greene's, Old Towne Draught House, Lindley Park Filling Station, and Grey's Tavern were only some of the eateries help support Greensboro Urban Ministries with their signature bowls of chili.

Urban Ministry says that due to a computer glitch in the food stamp program, even more families have been sent to them for food and financial help. Proceeds from the cook off today help Urban Ministry provide heat, food, and shelter to those in need.
