Winston-Salem, NC -- Aurelia Hill is the owner of Hill's Alteration in Winston-Salem.

She celebrates 35 years of being a seamstress and 30 years in the same location.

"Not in my wildest imagination would I imagine that I would still be in business 35 years later," said Aurelia Hill.

Hill opened the doors to her Fourth Street business in October of 1983.

"I'm a little country girl from Liberia that came to the United States and open a business. It proves to me that America is the land of opportunity and if you work hard, you will succeed."

She told WFMY News 2 it has been a tough road but she's made it through with her faith. Hill plans to stay in the same building until she retires.

According to the Downtown Winston-Salem Partnership spokesperson, Hill's Alterations is the second oldest business on Fourth Street. Recreation Billiards just up the road from Hill's shop is the oldest business on the block.

Hill's Alterations is location at 275 West 4th Street in Winston Salem.
