Lexington, NC -- Christmas comes December 25th. Your taxes are due every April 15th. And parents, the start of the school year means your kids need to be up to date on their shots.
And, time is running out.
The Davidson County Health Department hosted a free T-Dap vaccination clinic Thursday afternoon. The T-Dap shot protects you from tetanus, whooping cough and diptheria.
Students have 30 days after the start of the school year to get their shots.
"If there's a lot of demand and not enough vaccine, there may not be the vaccine that they need," said Jen Hames with the Davidson County Department of Public Health. "It's always good for anything just to plan ahead and get it done as soon as possible."
Forsyth County has already given out more than 650 free shots since July 1. Guilford County has given more than 500, and Davidson County is at about 250 so far.
Davidson County is hosting another clinic Thursday, Sept. 12.
Contact your local health department for information on how to get a free T-Dap vaccine.
