Greensboro, NC -- One little kitten caused a lot of commotion Thursday at Friendly Center.
A tabby cat hopped into the undercarriage of a car and took a trip from Summerfield all the way to Friendly Center. Workers from the Animal Clinic of Friendly Center, shoppers, and at least one construction worker came to the kitten's rescue. It took about an hour to save him.
"He's not injured, he has no burns," said Alex Woodgeard of the Animal Clinic. "I mean, I burned myself getting to him. I can't believe he came out just totally unharmed."
The woman driving the car found the kitten near her home and had been giving it food and water. She says she didn't notice it was stuck under her car until she heard it meow at the shopping center.
Animal clinic workers have been taking care of the kitten and say they're considering several names for the little guy. "Dipstick" is at the top of the list because one of the rescuers used a dipstick to try to get the kitten to come from under the car.
The kitten will be in quarantine for 10 days, then he'll be up for adoption. Woodgeard says she's considering adopting him herself.
