Greensboro, NC -- Barbers, hair stylists and nail technicians were hard at work Sunday in Greensboro--but, not for profit.
Leon's Beauty School was home to a special event, raising money to help those with Multiple Sclerosis or cancer.
The "Fighting for Your Life: Multiple Sclerosis & Cancer Hair-a-Thon," raised money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society and American Cancer Society.
Barbers, stylists and nail technicians gave haircuts and polished nails to raise money for the two organizations.
It all started with the event's founder, Palmica Robinson, who learned she had MS in 2010 after giving birth to her second child. She says the event is meant to give back to the foundation that helped her through the troubling time.
Last year's Hair-a-Thon raised more than $500 for the organizations, and organizers expect an even better result from this year's event.
