Winston-Salem, NC -- Some Triad families are breathing a sigh of relief after their soldiers returned home.

The North Carolina National Guard 113th unit returned home from deployment, and Saturday, there was a "Freedom Salute Ceremony" at Calvary Baptist Church to honor their service.

This unit is out of Greensboro and the surrounding areas.

For some, this was their second deployment overseas.

Around 700 people attended the ceremony.

All of us here at WFMY News 2 are happy to hear of their safe return home.
