BREVARD, NC - The wild blueberries that grow in Graveyard Fields along the Blue Ridge Parkway appear to be having their best season in several years.

The Times-News of Hendersonville reports the berries aren't quite ripe yet, but this year's crop looks better than 2011, when a late frost killed almost all of them off and 2012, when the crop was modest at best.

Blackberries are also expected to be plentiful in Graveyard Fields, which is at milepost 418, about 30 miles southwest of Asheville.

National Park Service rules allow visitors to pick up to one gallon of berries a day for their own use.
