GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Cone Health Cancer Center announced Tuesday they will host free oral cancer screenings in August.
The free screenings will be offered August 16 from 9 a.m. until noon at the HealthServe Community Health Clinic at 1002 S. Eugene St.
Cone Health says the screenings are for people who have not been to a dentist in the last year; registration is not required.
The Greensboro health care group urges people to have a regular examination because oral cancer can be detected early. They say people who use tobacco products are at greater risk of cancer - especially when combined with heavy alcohol use.
