Davidson County, NC-- If you have some spare time and looking for a way to help in your community, Davidson County Senior Services would like to hear from you.
The agency has received a donation to start a Home Delivered Meals Route in the Pilgrim area of Davidson County. There are 12 elderly citizens who depend on meals being delivered, but drivers are needed.
The agency told WFMY, they have the means, meals and a pick-up location, but they would love for someone to step up to deliver the meals.
How does the delivery process work? Volunteers will pick-up meals at Pilgrim Reformed Church and deliver to homebound on City Lake Road, Hill-Everhart Road, Ridge Road, Pilgrim Church Road, Academy Drive, and surrounding smaller roads.
Davidson County Senior Services has to have the route up and running by August 1.
If you can spare just 1-2 hours a month to help eliminate senior hunger, promote healthy aging, and reduce the feeling of isolation that many seniors experience, please contact us.
Interested volunteers may call Angela Miller at 336.474.2754.
