Cornhole Tournament For Family Involved In High Rock Lake Tragedy

Greensboro, N.C. -- The lives of the Britt family have forever changed after a boating accident in May that killed a mother, her 3-year-old son, and unborn child.

A speedboat crashed into their pontoon boat on High Rock Lake in Davidson County. The crash killed Melissa Chambers Britt, her son William Jaiden Britt, and her unborn child. Melissa's brother, Michael Chambers was hospitalized for severe head trauma. Her husband William was not injured.

Now the community is coming together for the Britt family and you can be a part of it. On Friday, June 14, 2013 FlipFlop's Beach Bar and Grill will have a cornhole benefit tournament with live music. The Jared Payne Band will start at 8:00 p.m. Bigsacks Lilholes will host the cornhole tournament that starts at 7:30 p.m. It's a $10 blind draw with 50% of the pot going to the winners and 50% to benefit Muirs Chapel Preschool to honor the Britt family. There will also be a raffle with lots of great prizes.

FlipFlop's Beach Bar and Grill is located at 106 College Road in Greensboro.
