Greensboro, NC -- One of the world's most popular sports will be on display at the Coliseum next month as some of the globe's greatest soccer players bring their talents to Greensboro.
The 2013 Intercontinental Futsal Cup competition is headed to Greensboro June 27-30.
The competition, in its 13th year, will include six of the world's best teams.
Futsal is a variation of soccer. Two teams of five players play on a smaller pitch and usually indoors. Players faceoff on a hard court and play with a smaller ball.
Futsal, which started in Uruguay in the 1930s and 1940s, got its start because there weren't always enough fields for everyone to use. The sport is so popular, that more people play Futsal in Brazil and Spain than soccer.
WFMY News 2 caught up with two of the player who will participate in the upcoming event.
