Elon, N.C. -- A panel consisting of a school chaplain, a police chief and a law professor is scheduled to lead a discussion of gun violence in the United States.
The discussion scheduled for Wednesday at Elon University is free and open to the public. It's being held at McKinnon Hall beginning at 6:30 p.m.
School officials say the program is meant to be an open, educational and respectful forum to benefit Elon University as well as the community.
Among those on the panel are Elon University Chaplain Emeritus Rev. Richard McBride; Elon Police Chief Cliff Parker; and Elon University Associate Professor of Law Michael Rich.
Audience members will be encouraged to join the conversation by asking questions of the panelists. An informal continuation of the discussion continues in the Moseley Center.
