Runners, walkers and strollers across America are pounding the pavement to raise money for the Boston One Fund, which will help victims & survivors pay medical bills. Last Monday, three people were killed and dozens were injured at the Boston Marathon when two bombs were deliberately set off near the finish line.
People in the Triad are also doing their lacing up their running or walking shoes to help. There are three runs scheduled for today, Monday April 22.
Burlington: 6pm - Event is being held at Burlington City Park. Participants should gather at Thataways. Click on Pavement Runner for more information.
Greensboro: 6:30pm - Off N' Running hosting a "Runners for Boston" fundraiser. It will begin at the Spencer Love Tennis Courts, which is located at 3802 Jaycee Park Drive, Country Park. Participants are encouraged to wear a race t-shirt or the yellow & blue Boston Marathon colors. Runners can choose one or two laps around Country Park. Click on Off N Running for more information.
Winston-Salem: 6pm - Fleet Feet Sports in Winston-Salem is also hosting an event to show support for those affected by the devastation at the Boston Marathon. The store's "Run for Boston" is a FREE Fun Run. The run will start at Gateway Family Practice, which is located at: 390 Salem Ave, Winston-Salem. Click on Fleet Feet Sports for more information.
