Greensboro, NC -- Julie Luck may have spent some time away from the camera lens in the past few months but she's as popular as ever with folks around town. We went to downtown Greensboro to shoot some promotional spots and there was a lot of love going around. Check out these commercials!
News Release: Julie Luck Joins WFMY News 2
The Piedmont Triad's most popular news anchor, Julie Luck, has joined WFMY News 2, Gannett's CBS affiliate in Greensboro¬High Point¬Winston¬Salem. Luck will team with WFMY News 2 evening anchor Frank Mickens. Together, their experience and diverse community connections make Frank & Julie, hands down, the Triad's top anchor team. Luck stepped away from local newscasting last fall, but chose to join a WFMY staff that continues to develop News 2.0 - WFMY's fresh, relevant, useful content presentation. "I am thrilled," said Luck who has found the welcome, team and opportunity at WFMY News 2 even greater than she anticipated. "This news team is all about community...all about people who live and work in the Triad. It feels like home. I can't wait to serve and reconnect with folks on WFMY News 2."
The arrival of Julie Luck is a message in itself, according to WFMY News 2 President and General Manager Larry Audas. "Julie Luck is beloved here, a wonderful person, a hugely popular personality and focused journalist. WFMY News 2 went from very good to great when she walked in the door."
Equally newsworthy, the addition of Julie Luck has freed anchor Tanya Rivera to launch 2 Wants to Know, but with a viewer¬friendly twist. WFMY News 2's best known consumer brand will be more than occasional stories. "We have hired an investigative unit and staffed a Call for Action team," said Rivera. "2 Wants to Know will be a daily program. We will solve viewer problems, get answers and genuinely help people in these tough times." 2 Wants to Know will air weekdays at 5:30PM. Rivera has been promoted to Executive Producer of the program and also will serve as host.
Julie Luck joins Frank Mickens at 5, 6, and 11PM and Tanya Rivera launches 2 Wants to Know on Thursday, April 25. WFMY News 2 News Director Bob Clinkingbeard summed it up. "We are here to serve. And the service is about to get a whole lot better."
